Georgina Sixto (nee Lopez), 94 of Berkeley Heights passed away at Spring Grove Rehab in New Providence on August 2, 2024.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Georgina at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Thursday August 8 from 9 to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Pontevedra, Spain, Georgina immigrated to Newark with her family in 1969. She was a longtime Ironbound resident until returning to Spain, where she was able to enjoy summertime spent at her home in the Spanish countryside. Above all else, Georgina treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Georgina was the beloved wife of the late Angel Sixto; loving mother of Georgina Balboa and her husband Alfonso, Pastora Vizcaya and her husband Juan, and the late Teresa Sixto. She was the proud grandmother of John Vizcaya, Joseph Vizcaya and Christina Balboa, and adoring great-grandmother of Aria, John and Luna. She is also survived by her brother Alfonso Lopez.
