Jose Alves passed away on September 25’ 2024. He was 70. Born in Portugal he lived in Kearny the past 37 years. His cremation will be handled privately.
Jose had worked construction locally. He served in the military while living in Portugal. He enjoyed involvement with the Portuguese Club in Newark and loved all his friends at Pic Nic in East Newark. Jose enjoyed playing soccer and was a supporter of the Sporting Football Club.
Husband of Patricia (nee Williams), he was close to his sisters, Dora and Paula and their husbands. He was also close with his brothers in law and sisters in law on his wife’s side. Also surviving him are loving nieces, and nephews along with great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many loving family and friends especially dear friend Manuel “Manny” Galhofo.
