Elizabeth A. (Best) Maver
Elizabeth A. "Betty Ann" Maver, 89, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. A lifelong resident of North Arlington, Betty was the beloved wife of the late Alan Maver, Sr. and the loving mother of Alan W. Maver, Jr. (and his wife Mary) and Michael F. Maver. She was a cherished sister to Lawrence Best and Mary Jane Best Tomney, as well as a devoted grandmother to Ian Maver, Maggie Maver, Kyle Warner, Colin Warner, Brian Warner, Andrew Tomney, and Zachary Tomney.
Betty graduated from Queen of Peace High School in 1953 and dedicated much of her life to community service. She was deeply involved in local organizations, including The Concerned Citizens and The Rosary Society, and volunteered with many groups throughout North Arlington. Betty had a deep love for her hometown of North Arlington and was fortunate to have many close lifelong friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
