Maria J.Sousa Frade, 66 of Kearny passed away on December 10, 2024.
Funeral is from the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Friday December 13 at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Church in Kearny at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery. Visitation is on Thursday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Sao Bras De Alportel, Algarve, Portugal, Maria moved to Harrison in 1980 and later to Kearny. She was a hairdresser for many years, a job that she truly loved. Maria enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, and spending time with her family and her dog, Boneca. Throughout her many health challenges, Maria persevered with grace, and was a true fighter.
The beloved wife of the late Valentim, Maria was the loving mother of Telma Carinhas and Miguel Frade; devoted grandmother of Lucas, Andre, Emma, Duke and Sofia. She is also survived by her three sisters, and by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
