Philip Martone passed away on June 22, 2024 at home. He was 73 years of age. Born in Newark he lived most of his life in Kearny before moving to Neptune. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive in Kearny. His Funeral Mass will be on Thursday 10:30 am in St. Cecilia Church in Kearny and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Phil was the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Kearny. He was very involved with soccer and loved his membership with Tuite and Beasley. He was also a member of the Scots American Club.
He is survived by his long-time loving Friend Maria Fatima Martins (her sons Stephan and Philip), his siblings Robert Martone, Vincent Martone, Frankie Martone and Doretta Martone-Knoerr (Stephen). Beloved uncle of Erica (Steven), Cristen (Jim), Samantha, Maria, Nick (Katie), Lisa (Brian), Andrew and Matthew (Lexy) along with their children Sofia, Madelyn, Madison, Jimmy, Vincent, Bristol, Kendall, Hunter, Nora and Emma.
